Hammock
We all love exploring the outdoors, and with that comes a responsibility to care for the wild places we enjoy. Our hire hammocks are chosen with both comfort and environmental impact in mind.
How does it work?
Book online for the dates you need and only pay for your actual hire dates, not the time your gear spends in transit. Pay securely when you book. Your card is saved with Stripe for the damage authorisation shown, but that amount is not charged upfront.
Collect and return in Nelson, or choose nationwide courier delivery (excluding the Chatham Islands). Allow at least three working days so your gear arrives before your hire starts.
Repack courier orders securely in their original packaging with the prepaid return ticket, then hand them to the courier on the final day of your hire.
You can still book over public holidays, but stores are closed and delivery may take longer. If timing is tight, talk to us. Cancellations may incur a fee. See our Terms.
The details.
We all love exploring the outdoors, and with that comes a responsibility to care for the wild places we enjoy. Our hire hammocks are chosen with both comfort and environmental impact in mind.
By default, this hire includes the DD Hammocks Recycled Frontline Hammock. If this specific model is unavailable for your hire period, we may supply a comparable premium camping hammock with equivalent features and performance.
Sustainable comfort & protection
The included hammock is designed to be bug-proof, breathable, and highly versatile, making it suitable for a wide range of environments and seasons. The main hammock body is constructed using recycled materials, helping reduce single-use plastic waste while still delivering durability and comfort suitable for serious outdoor use.
A double-layer base allows airflow in warm conditions, while also enabling a partially inflated sleeping mat to be inserted between layers for added insulation when temperatures drop.
An integrated fine-mesh mosquito net provides reliable protection from insects, including very small biting insects, making this an excellent year-round option. When insect protection isn’t required, the net can be rolled away or the hammock can be configured as an open design for unobstructed views of your surroundings.
Simple setup, practical features
The hammock comes ready to use straight out of the bag, with pre-fitted suspension webbing for fast and easy setup. Lightweight spreader poles and elastic cords hold the mosquito net away from the body, creating a spacious and comfortable interior.
Multiple internal pockets and attachment points make it easy to store small valuables or hang accessories, while reinforced tabs allow for pegging out gear or attaching insulation accessories in colder conditions.
